Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that defies conventional predictions, the game developer has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the formal release, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure focuses on "strange tests and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
